Code of Conduct  Yaqeen by Optivise

This Code applies to mentors, participants, volunteers, staff, speakers, partners and visitors across online and in-person Yaqeen activities.

4.1 Core Standards

  • Respect: communicate professionally and treat every person with dignity.
  • Inclusion: do not discriminate based on gender, disability, ethnicity, religion, language, socioeconomic background or other protected status.
  • Integrity: provide truthful information and avoid false promises, inflated credentials or misleading claims.
  • Boundaries: keep relationships appropriate, purpose-driven and within approved channels.
  • Privacy: protect personal information and do not publish another person’s story, photograph or contact details without permission.
  • Safety: immediately raise concerns involving harassment, exploitation, threats, abuse or unsafe conduct.
  • No solicitation: do not use Yaqeen access for unauthorized sales, fundraising, recruitment, political campaigning or personal financial gain.

4.2 Mentor Responsibilities

  • Offer guidance within your competence and clearly state where specialist advice is required.
  • Avoid controlling, humiliating or creating dependency in participants.
  • Do not guarantee results, request money, borrow funds or pressure participants into commercial arrangements.
  • Disclose relevant conflicts of interest and obtain approval before offering paid services or opportunities.
  • Do not communicate privately with minors outside approved safeguarding procedures.
  • Be punctual, prepared and honest about availability.

4.3 Participant Responsibilities

  • Attend sessions prepared and provide reasonable notice if unable to attend.
  • Communicate respectfully and avoid harassment, repeated demands or inappropriate contact.
  • Do not treat mentors as employees or expect unlimited availability.
  • Do not record, copy or distribute session materials without authorization.
  • Take responsibility for decisions and verify important information independently.

4.4 Prohibited Conduct

  • Bullying, stalking, intimidation, hate speech, sexual harassment or unwanted advances.
  • Threats, violence, self-harm encouragement or possession/use of prohibited items during in-person activities.
  • Fraud, bribery, extortion, financial exploitation or misuse of donations.
  • Sharing obscene, illegal, extremist or dangerous content.
  • Retaliation against a person who reports a concern in good faith.
  • Any conduct that creates an unreasonable safety, legal, reputational or safeguarding risk.

4.5 Reporting and Response

Concerns may be reported confidentially to safeguarding@yaqeenbyoptivise.com. Yaqeen may gather information, restrict contact, remove a person from a session, suspend participation, notify a guardian or institution, or refer a matter to authorities where reasonably necessary. Confidentiality will be respected as far as possible, but cannot be guaranteed where disclosure is needed for safety, fairness or legal compliance.

4.6 Consequences

A violation may result in a warning, required corrective action, reassignment, removal from a session or program, permanent exclusion, termination of a partnership, or referral to relevant authorities. Yaqeen may act immediately in serious cases.

4.7 Acknowledgment

“I have read and agree to follow the Yaqeen Code of Conduct. I understand that violations may result in removal from the program.”
